The Rules Are...
1. Keep things friendly and respectful at all times. Interact with other forum users as though they were close friends. Be polite and courteous, and in turn you will be treated with respect. It's all too easy to hide behind a username and be abusive, but don't - this isn't YouTube. 2. Introduce yourself. In your very first post, let us know who you are, how long you've been in the hobby, what you fly... that kind of stuff. 3. Do not 'do down' other users' replies. If you see a reply that you disagree with, respectfully say so if you have solid grounds to do so. Sentences like 'You don't know what you're talking about...' won't be tolerated. 4. Do not use bad language of any kind. Although there is a language filter in use here, it's possible that naughty words could slip through. To stop this happening, don't use them in the first place, there is no need for them whatsoever. Incidentally, the naughty words filter may be triggered by words or part-words that many of us don't see as naughty - sorry about this, but please accept it, there may be kids visiting the forum. 5. Do not shout. If you don't already know, TYPING IN CAPITALS is the equivalent of shouting. It's rude, unnecessary and not welcome here. If you want to emphasize a word, use the bold tag. However, do use capitals where they belong ie to start a sentence or for a name. 6. Don't over-punctuate. Using one or two exclamation marks(!), question marks(?) or any other punctuation mark is perfectly adequate. In other words, don't do this...Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 7. Do not use 'text message' language. Typing things like 'i think ure plane is gr8' for 'I think you're plane is great' is unacceptable. It really doesn't take that much longer to type properly, and it's good practice for the real world. 8. Post in the correct forum. This keeps the whole forum easier to use for others. If you're not sure where your post belongs, post it in the 'Anything Else...' forum. It's possible that a new forum will get created, and your post may be moved to it. 9. Be specific in your subject. Try and get the basic theme of your post into the subject box, and don't fill the subject with things like Help..., Please help..., Help needed... etc.etc. For example, a good subject would be 'Battery upgrade for Walkera DF4', while a not-so-good subject would be 'Upgrade'. You get the idea. 10. Keep replies on-topic. When replying to threads, try and be as specific to the original thread as possible. Going off-topic dilutes the forum and makes it harder to navigate and search. If you see yourself going off on a tangent, start a new thread in the appropriate forum. 11. Do not repeat posts. Post your thread in one forum only, and do not duplicate it elsewhere. If you receive no replies in 24 hours, give it a bump, but do not post it again. 12. Help and be helped. Try not to take-take-take; wherever you can offer a helpful reply to a thread, please do so. That's what this forum is all about, helping each other. 13. Do not spam in your posts. That means no affiliate links or self-promotion. You can of course link to your own website pages, but not directly to merchants through an affiliate code. Keep all promotional posting to the 'RC Marketplace' forum. 14. No soliciting money from other forum members or visitors. This means no trying to get money from anyone, by inviting them to sign up for something or click a link whereby you benefit. 15. Make your posts wothwhile. One line posts with nothing more than a link to a YouTube video, and no explanation, will be deleted without question. 16. Keep your signature simple. A respectful goodbye, your name/username, a link to your website and maybe a quotation are all acceptable things to put in your sig. 17. Respect the actions of admin and moderators. If your post should get edited, moved, deleted etc.etc, then there's probably a good reason why. Accept that it's happened, and move on. If you need to voice your concerns, please do so in the 'Forum Support' forum. 18. Use Forum Support for forum issues only. The 'Forum Support' forum is the only place to post issues about using the forum. If you are having problems, respectfully let admin know in this forum and we'll do our best to resolve the issue. Expect to be banned if you choose to ignore these forum rules! |
